South Whidbey School District is committed to providing a safe and
inclusive environment of all of our staff, students and families. Our
Board adopted an inclusive non-discrimination clause and we stand by all
members of our community. The District does not discriminate on the
basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, age,
marital status, military status, sexual orientation, gender expression
or identity or the presence of disability.
South Whidbey School District Administrators and multiple staff members
participate in 30 hours of equity training over the course of four
months. The goal is to build capacity within our own district for
leading the courageous conversations related to equity. The training was
led by Dr. Caprice Hollins, author of
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Strategies for Facilitating Conversations on Race.
The district is committed to digital citizenship by promoting
responsible, ethical use of technology. Our students are taught to be
safe and kind online and to be aware of their digital "footprint".
