Student Support

The student support programs at our schools offer many different services for students that will help them to be successful learners. We know that children who feel comfortable at school and have good relationships with their peers and teachers are able to focus on their daily work to a great extent. Student support through our school counselors offer assistance in these areas: -Individual and small group guidance counseling for: Friendship/social skills, self regulation skills, Grief and loss, Self-esteem - -Individual counseling is limited to several short sessions, and is aimed at helping students in the short term and then assisting families to find longer term counseling resources outside the school setting. -Classroom instruction in self regulation skills. -Individual and group problem solving -Crisis response -Leader In Me The SWES staff is committed to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students. We are teaching students the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People through a program for schools  called "The Leader In Me" http://www.theleaderinme.org/

Here is "An Overview of the 7 Habits.  Please see our Leader in Me page for more information.
